Bill practices in the areas of business, cooperative
and telecommunications law. He also practices
law in the areas of estate planning and estate
administration.

 

Bill is a graduate of the Harvard Law School, where he was president of Harvard Legal Aid Society (the oldest and largest student-run legal aid organization in the country). After practicing with a large Boston law firm, Bill returned to practice law with his father in Menomonie under the firm name Thedinga Law Firm. In 2003, the practice of Thedinga Law Firm merged with Weld, Riley, Prenn & Ricci, SC.

Bill is a member of the American Bar Association, a member of the ABA Section of Public Utility, Communications and Transportation Law, and a charter member of the Electric Cooperative Bar Association. He is also a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin and a charter member of the Wisconsin Bar's Telecommunications Section.

Bill has been an instructor in the clinical practice course at the University of Wisconsin Law School in the area of estate administration. He is author of the leading article on Wisconsin statutory powers of attorney.

Bill is admitted to practice in the federal district court for the Western District of Wisconsin, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Bill is a former corporation counsel for Dunn County and a former attorney for numerous villages and towns.

Bill has been active in a number of community organizations.  He is currently serving as President of the Board of Directors of  Mabel Tainter Library, Literary & Education Society and he is a member of the board of directors of the Free Clinic of the Greater Menomonie Area.
