James M. Ward - Weld, Riley, Prenn & Ricci
Jim is a member of the firm's Labor and
Employment Section
. Since 1976, Jim has
represented school districts throughout
the region in virtually all areas of school
law. His primary concentration in recent
years has been in the areas of student
discipline and civil rights.

Before joining the firm, he practiced law for over a dozen years with his mentor, the late Steve Riley, one of the school law pioneers in Wisconsin.

He is a past president of the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association and has served on that organization's Board of Directors. Jim earned his undergraduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. While in law school, he was selected as a member of the prestigious Order of the Coif in recognition of his high academic standing as a law student.
