Andrea graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Science & Law in 1998. Andrea then received her law degree cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2002. She is a member of the American Bar Association (Labor and Employment Law Section), State Bar of Wisconsin, State Bar of Michigan, and the Eau Claire County Bar Association, and the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association.

After graduating from law school, Andrea moved to the Detroit area and practiced labor and employment law in Flint , Michigan . A native of New Richmond, Wisconsin, Andrea is thrilled to be back in Wisconsin .
