Mark's areas of concentration are business & corporate law, banking & financial services, government relations, probate & estate planning, and real estate law.
Mark was born and raised in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, where he practiced law for 26 years before he joined Weld, Riley, Prenn & Ricci, S.C. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1982 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin in 1985. He is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and in the federal court for the Western District of Wisconsin.
Since 1990, Mark has acted as legal counsel in the development of over four million square feet of retail shopping center space in the Midwest and California for national retail tenants. As counsel, he oversees all aspects of development from initial site analysis and acquisition through tenant negotiations, financing and closing.
Mark also represented several municipal entities throughout Western Wisconsin and serves as Corporation Counsel for Jackson County. He is also the Jackson County Circuit Court Commissioner and the former Family Court Commissioner.
Mark is a member of the Eau Claire County Bar Association, the Tri-County Bar Association, where he served as president, and the State Bar of Wisconsin. He is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He has lectured at various programs and seminars including the State Bar of Wisconsin Convention.
Previous to joining the Weld, Riley, Prenn & Ricci law firm, Mark Skolos, along with Paul Millis, practiced out of Black River Falls for over twelve years. Paul Millis and Mark Skolos have since merged their firm with Weld, Riley, Prenn & Ricci and are shareholders and members of the firm's Business Section.
In 1999, Mark married his wife Erin, and together they have two daughters. Mark enjoys hunting, fishing, travel, running and skiing during his leisure time.
