Anders is a member of the firm’s Government and Labor and Employment Law Sections. He provides counsel to municipalities in general governmental matters and gives management-side labor and employment law advice to private and public sector employers. His practice includes:
• General municipal advice
• Social media in the workplace
• State and federal employment discrimination
• Unemployment compensation
• Constitutional matters (e.g., First Amendment, Fourth Amendment)
• Federal and state statutory and regulatory analysis
• Employee handbooks and policies
• Teacher and administrator non-renewal
• Labor relations (collective bargaining and arbitration)
He is a graduate of Taylor University in Upland, Indiana (B.A., magna cum laude) and the Drake University School of Law (J.D., high honors, Order of the Coif), where he was an Articles Editor for the Drake Law Review. Prior to joining the firm, Anders spent a law school semester in Drake’s Judicial Honors Program, serving as an intern for the Honorable Federal Magistrate Judge Ross A. Walters in the Southern District of Iowa.
He serves on the Board of Directors for the Chippewa Valley Society for Human Resource Management as the Director of Legal and Legislative Affairs. He is also a member of the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association and the Eau Claire and Wisconsin Bar Associations. Anders was born and raised in Wisconsin, spending time in Sturgeon Bay, Manitowoc, and Birchwood.
